On February 12th 2010 - The Holy Night of Lord Shiva - a new community-nation was founded: DHARMALAND. The name "Dharmaland" stands for an alternative modern lifestyle in accordance with Vedic Sanatan Dharma ("Hinduism"). Dharmaland is not a freak community, but a community of serious people who want to connect ecological solutions with modern technology and spirituality with science. Assembled Dharmaland people debated on main important questions: a common vedic spiritual practise, community education projects, purchasing of land etc. Finally a provisional Government is voted*. The government is charged with the development of concept paper for a national constitution that shall discussed and adopted on the next plenary assembly (Date: June, 27th 2010). After the official parts of the meeting there was a great founding celebration. Dharmaland people and guests from other european communities feted with several hours of music, traditional chants, indian dance, tributes to the country's idols, a symbolic flag-raising ceremony and fireworks.
